Dear Dr. Lipani,
I’m not sure how many patients communicate to you on the anniversary of their surgery. A year ago today I was scared beyond words of the surgery you were going to perform on me but in the back of my mind I knew you were the best. Our first meeting in September put me at ease by your kindness and calming mannerism and I knew you were the Dr. who would perform my surgery and repair my body. As I wrote this rough draft with my left hand I took a moment and reflected back how I couldn’t even hold a pen and tears filled up. You truly saved my life. Yesterday my friend who pretty much shared my nightmare of deterioration commented how well I’m walking and I mentioned that October 9th is one year.

Good morning. I’m I am completely speechless on how do you guys treat people like people and not numbers I so much appreciate the time and effort you guys took to look at my case when you didn’t have to (but you guys did) and I don’t know how to say THANK YOU so much for treating people like people and like numbers. It’s unfortunate how the healthcare system is what it is today but the feeling knowing there is a doctor who actually does care is a one in 1 billion and you guys are one in 1 IN A BILLION THANK YOU!

wanted to say hello, hope you and your families are all safe and things are as good as they can be under these circumstances. Fortunately, we have all been well, and very happy that we moved to PA, our state is faring much better than others in terms of the virus…
How have you been?
As for me, the recovery from the second back surgery in Oct 2018 has healed well. Unfortunately, I had to have my (“good”) hip replaced/reconstructed this past January, it was also dysplastic; I went to same surgeon at HSS in NYC (Dr Thomas Sculco Sr.) who did the other hip 14 years ago.. thankfully I heal well!
What a blessing to live WITHOUT PAIN – I had forgotten how wonderful that feels, and I thank God for that which most take for granted.
I think of you often, and all that you did to “put me back together” again!

You have no idea how much you have changed my life. I don’t want to sound dramatic or cliche, but you’ve literally given me my life back. Several times. I know you’re just doing your job, but it’s made a world of difference to me. There’s no doubt that 2018 was a bad year for me medically, but for the first time in a long time, I feel normal! Its been so long of not feeling my best that its amazing to be in no pain and have energy again. While the healing process was long and for a time my headaches were worse, since I’ve recovered, my horrid headaches have drastically reduced. That alone has been amazing. I wanted to officially thank you for giving me my life back. Since as far back as I can remember, I have been dealing with back issues. The worst started in 2015, sending me down a trail of doctors, medications, and procedures. All of these things would fail and my life was beginning to fall apart. I had to consider retiring from law enforcement, just over a year after becoming a Sergeant.
I was lucky to have chosen to call your office, because you quickly diagnosed and handled the problem. After my surgery, I felt immediate relief. I was finally able to hold my newborn daughter without the fear of pain threatening my stability. I returned to work and haven’t looked back.
Even after the surgery, you’ve continued to fight for me. You have been handling the insurance companies and protecting me from financial hardship.
I have included 2018 Fraternal Order of Police courtesy cards for each of you. While I can never fully repay what you have done for me, I hope this gesture helps.

After suffering for 6 months, and PT doing nothing. I decided I would pursue surgery… I found Dr. Lipani after much online research.
I traveled over an hour to get to his office and am sooo glad I did.
I cannot say enough about Kathleen Bonner RN, BSN Practice Administrator and Clinical Manager. Kathy got back to me right away…answered all my questions and worked with me on appt. scheduling.
Dr. Lipani is great. He sat with me for at least an hour and showed me my films. Explained any and all I needed to know. He also expedited my surgery so I would be able to enjoy the vacation I had booked the year before.
I know Kathy had to do a lot of wheeling and dealing to do that and I appreciated it all. It left me a recovery window of 6 weeks…which was PERFECT!!
My surgery went well….had 2 follow up visits with Dr. Lipani…and I feel wonderful. To be out of that god awful pain is a blessing…and I can’t praise him enough.
Kathy was available 24/7…and helped me afterwards with insurance problems too!! I can’t say enough 🙂

My sister lived in chronic neck pain for years causing limitations in everything she did in life; she couldn’t even sit for longer than 30 minutes without pain. Finally, she agreed to see a doctor. We are not medical people but we knew enough to know my sisters complex spinal surgery would be left only in the hands of a highly trained, experienced neurosurgeon. That was non-negotiable. We researched board certified fellowship trained neurosurgeons and that led us to you!
What a wonderful physician, I cannot say enough about your exceptional skills and genuine care and compassion.
I was by my sister’s side for most of her ordeal, and as you know, I had much contact with you and your office staff. After your detailed explanation of my sister’s diagnosis, followed by her spinal surgery my sister is now pain free and living a normal life!
Your office staff are courteous, highly professional and, most importantly, genuinely compassionate. They might do this every day, but their patients don’t and they recognize that.
What wonderful bedside manner you have along with your clinical manager Kathleen… Having both yourself and Kathleen available to us from the time of my sister’s initial phone call to schedule her consultation through her post-operative course made such an incredible difference. 24/7 availability and your surgeons cell phone number……….who knew that was possible?!! You were always there to answer any question, and made my sister and all of us feel at ease.
I’m so thankful she chose you Dr. Lipani.

When my mother was diagnosed with a pituitary tumor I was horrified. My mother’s physician, a local endocrinologist, had suggested that she undergo surgery for treatment. Understandably my mother was very upset with her diagnosis. I wondered whether she was a candidate for Cyberknife and was able to get an appointment with you to see my mother within a few days. My mother was very impressed with you and said you were thorough, caring and explained your recommendations clearly. Per my mother’s request you called me to discuss her case. I am extremely busy at work so it took you three calls to contact me. You took your time and explained my mother’s options so we could make an informed decision for her care.
