Patient Testimonials
The care I received from Dr. Lipani and Kathy, his head nurse, is unlike any I have encountered in my entire life. Dr. Lipani at every visit takes the time to listen and then thoroughly explain how he can help you. He truly cares about his patients and wants to fix what is wrong. He is there for his patients before, during and after surgery. I have never met a doctor that is willing to be on call to talk to his patients the way Dr. Lipani does. He has truly been an angel and is so incredibly genuine. Kathy is another invaluable component of the office. She makes sure that you NEVER have to wait for anything. She literally takes care of everything single thing that you need from insurance, hospital, appointments, you name it – it’s done. I could never thank them both enough for everything they have done for me. Dr. Lipani is a very special man and amazing doctor that anyone would be incredibly lucky to have.
World class team of professionals. Dr. Lipani gave me my life back. I cannot say enough about the care and attention I received. It simply doesn’t get any better.
I didn’t know doctors like Dr. Lipani were around anymore. Gave my wife her life back after years of misdiagnosis and treatments. Simply the best in the business.
My wife and I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Lipani. We had heard about Dr. Lipani and more than everything we heard and researched was true. The patient is the priority. He took time to explain so many questions I (we) had about my back (lower L5S1) and other lumbar issues. In fact, he explained something on the MRI (image) and looked at previous reports and called the imaging place since something was not picked up that was on previous reports. While I have a good Ortho Doc, Dr Lipani picked up and mentioned something to us that our Ortho Dr. never mentioned. My wife was amazed as well. Yes… visit, make and schedule an appointment with Dr. Lipani. I so appreciate Dr. Lipani. Going forward, this is where we will go. We also appreciate the staff, Kathy Bonner… friendly, helpful and much, much more.
Dr. Lipani and Kathy are more like family than Dr and nurse. Amazing work and bedside manner. Second surgery with them and I feel more like my younger days. If you are in pain they will help. John and Kathy have to be the most caring dedicated people in this profession. Thank you so much for everything.
Dear Kathleen and Dr. Lipani, It is with great thanks again to both for your excellence in taking care of your patients had a moment’s notice. We will never be able to say thank you enough. My husband Tom is on the road back to recovery thanks to you both. We will forever be grateful. Love, GC
Dear Dr. Lipani, No words can express our sincere gratitude for all you have done for both of us. You are “one of a kind”! It’s difficult to find a doctor that is dedicated and as caring as you are. You made us feel like family from day one! Thank you for guiding us along our journey. Love SC
Dr. Lipani and his staff is wonderful. His knowledge and expertise just blew us away on our first visit. I knew after that visit he was the surgeon to perform my surgery. They help guide you through all the steps making a difficult time and situation more pleasant and manageable. They are professional and I highly recommend them for your surgery needs. You won’t be disappointed.
Amazing surgeon! A friend recommended Dr. Lipani after 2 prior failed spine surgeries by two other surgeons. Dr. Lipani reviewed my case and explained the problem to me unlike any other doctor. If you have been told you need spine surgery, I highly recommend that you see Dr. Lipani. You’ll be so glad you did. Thanks to Dr. Lipani, I can walk again pain free. I never imagined that would happen!
I had a spinal fusion L4-S1 with Dr. Lipani about 6 months ago…If you are concerned about pursuing surgical treatment for your spine problem I highly recommend that you talk to Dr. Lipani and his extremely experienced and talented nurse Kathy. The individual attention and concern they show to their patients is remarkable and reassuring. I highly recommend them for their skill, compassion and dedication to their patients. Thank you so much Dr. Lipani and Kathy! I feel great!
Patient Reviews

There are truly no words how wonderful Dr Lipani is and Kathy, Both are so compassionate , patient and kind . Dr Lipani made sure I had the best care I could ever imagine , my surgery took longer than expected , he explained everything he had to do for me to relieve the pressure in my spinal cord , it was emergent surgery I wasn’t nervous , I knew I was in the best care I could find in the state of New Jersey . I adore both Dr Lipani and Kathy , I highly recommend his practice to many friends and family , if my children needed this kind of surgery I would not think twice about whom would take care of my children. I know they would be in excellent hands . Thank you Dr Lipani and Kathy , you both are angels in earth .

I have been dealing with neck pain for years. Then the pain started going down my arm and into my fingers. I also suffered with frequent headaches. When I began dropping objects, I got very concerned. The thought of surgery horrified me. When I met Dr. Lipani, my fear was relieved because I immediately felt confident in his ability to help me. Dr. Lipani and his nurse Kathleen were so helpful and compassionate; something that is pretty rare these days in healthcare. My surgery went without incident and for the first time in years I had no neck pain, no arm pain, and no daily headaches. Most importantly, the strength in my right arm and hand was restored! I can’t thank Dr. Lipani and Kathleen enough for all the care and attention they showed me throughout my treatment.

Dr. Lipani and his staff are true professionals who take their time and provide unparalleled care and attention for their patients. It is difficult to find a spine surgeon willing to revise failed spine surgery at other facilities but Dr. Lipani has the skill and confidence to correct the problem and I highly recommend him.

Dr. Lipani is amazing! I have suffered from back pain for so many years , injured myself doing CrossFit and martial arts for many years. He is kind, compassionate and an amazing surgeon. I recommend him highly! Thank you Dr. Lipani, you changed my life!

After seeing several physicians in the tristate area, and still suffering from chronic back pain, I finally contacted Princeton Neurological Surgery and my experience there was life-changing. I first spoke with the office manager, who was extremely accommodating and helpful, and she actually put me on the phone with Dr. Lipani before I even arrived for my appointment. For the first time in several years, I was actually speaking to people who wanted to help me. Dr. Lipani could not have been more attentive and professional. My entire experience was so positive, and I found myself upset that I had to waste so much time with other doctors, who unfortunately didn’t care enough or who just can’t spend time with their patients anymore. Not only am I walking around and feeling so much better, but my faith in medicine is renewed, as it’s nice to know that there are still a few physicians who actually enjoy caring for patients and making them well.

Dr. Lipani and his nurse manager Kathy are great at what they do. Kathy is so knowledgeable, helping with insurance issues to making me feel like my pain mattered like it was her own. You can tell Dr. Lipani cares about his patients. I’ve never had a doctor take the time he did to make sure all bases were covered. My issue has gone on for ten years and he made sure to look back at every bit of imaging I’ve had to ensure he knew the complete history and explaining everything to me in detail. Best experience I’ve ever had in regards to medical services. I cannot thank them enough.

Written by my husband: Dr. Lipani was my 8th+ spine/neurosurgeon who was the only one to solve the literal nightmare of 3 exponentially painful years of near bed bound spinal agony. Being post 5 surgeries and countless spinal procedures leaving me with no solutions, we were looking for palliative care when we were recommended to him by their home visit doctor due to being in my 30s. Before even seeing me in person, he saw my case and not only spotted what countless doctors were missing, but had a comprehensive breakdown over the phone with my wife and I that day about what to do. He not only had a great potential diagnosis of what was wrong, but a precise answering of hardware and procedure specific questions. Having cancer just prior to this, I had just about given up on life, and more so an end to the constant pain(which meds were barely helping at this stage and time was running out). My wife and I finally had hope. The procedures were agony(If I had him years ago it would not have been so horrible), but after his first of two surgeries I knew he was successful. The screaming constant pain in my spine/legs was silenced. Turned out my height/size made my issue significantly more complex than other doctors could figure out, but he knew from day one. Although this review is not even 2 months after my fixed spinal fusion/disk replacements, I have been slowly grabbing back a life I have not had for years. I see an end to the hell I was in(recovery for these are rough naturally yet alone with the conditions he had to do it under was brutal). Despite the surgery pain, I have done more for myself than I have since 2019. I can walk and sit again, among more hygienic things. I have no doubt that had I first found him, I would not have had to endure years of a torturous existence and had I not, I would be writhing in agony wishing for my heart to give out. He has been exemplary in both his communications(taking calls and concerns at hours I have rarely experienced with any of my doctors ever) as well as reassuring with a comfort that did not come from niceties(I’ve had countless doctors BS me), but sheer brilliance and mastery of the craft you can hear just speaking with him. He is a tier above all other spine doctors, and anyone with severe, complex, or nebulous spine issues I cannot recommend him enough. I finally feel human again. Without exaggeration, he saved my life, and for that I will forever be thankful for him.

A friend had recommended Dr. Lapani to me since she had very successful spine surgery the prior year. I was anxious leading up to my initial visit but found both Kathy and Dr. Lapani’s demeanors were very calming. I never felt rushed and after we spoke about my condition for 45 mins, Dr. Lapani reviewed my medical records, did an exam and asked me many questions in which he carefully listened to my answers. Afterwards, he explained in detail how he could help me. Dr Lapani answered all my questions and I knew then, what a “rare find” this was; a reassuring, brilliant, unpretentious and confident neurosurgeon. My surgery was very successful, and I am no longer in pain. Dr. Lapani made himself available to me 24/7 post-op just in case I had any questions or concerns. I did call him once and was re-assured with his answer. I am very happy with the care I received from Princeton Neurological Surgery, and I can never re-pay this skilled surgeon for giving me my life back!

I learned my back problem in 2013 after an EMG test. I have consulted an orthopaedic surgeon who have suggested a surgery. I tried to avoid surgery and did some physical therapy and have couple of lumbar epidural injections – but none of them provide me with needed relief. My back problem got worse in March 2020. I was tilted to my right side and had been experiencing excruciating pain. I could not lie down and had to sleep sitting on the edge of the bed. On May 20th, I called Dr. John D. Lipani’s office and spoke with manager Kathy Bonner. To my biggest surprise, I got a call from Dr. Lipani that same afternoon: he asked me about my condition and he wants to know if I am dealing with something that is an emergency situation. I was totally impressed with his phone call and his concerned about my conditions (I am seeing 6 doctors/specialist and most of their calls are done with their nurses/assistant). It occurred to me that with Dr. Lipani’s knowledge and experience, he knows that its critical to address my problem right away. I know right there that I’ve found a doctor who really cares for his patient We got to Dr. Lipani’s Hamilton office two days later, and me and my wife were welcomed by manager Kathy Bonner – she is very nice and accommodating and she can make you feel at ease and comfortable. She is very efficient and professional in her approach. We waited just a few minutes before we were asked to proceed to the examination room, where we met Dr. Lipani. What impressed us most about that initial meeting with Dr. Lipani is that he has done his homework: he had looked up at my last MRI and have already planned the steps needs to be taken. We went to another room and he pulled up my MRI on the big screen TV and explained to us my spinal stenosis problem and how to fix it. His explanation was very encouraging and we know right then and there that we found the right surgeon to help me with my problem. Dr. Lipani gave us his undivided attention and patiently answered all our questions and concerns. On June 10, I checked in at the hospital for my much needed spinal fusion. Everyone of Dr. Lipani’s staff in the OR are very nice, from the anesthesiologist and nurses. I woke up the next morning and thank God that for the first time in many years, I am not feeling any pain in my back or any parts of my body. The operation is successful. It was a blessing to get to know Dr. John Lipani, who got rid of my pain and sufferings. Dr. Lipani came for his visit later that morning. I was too impressed because he gave me his time and attention to talked and explained to me about the operation and he explained what is going to happen during my hospital stays. I believe Dr. John D. Lipani is the most qualified, experienced, caring, and compassionate surgeon. I would highly recommend Dr. John Lipani to anyone who needs a neurosurgeon for their back problem. I am very fortunate to have Dr. Lipani as my surgeon.

The Doctor outstanding in every way possible . Explaining every detail and taking his time to do so, . Amazing for a surgeon to be so informing of the procedure to me and my wife .After the surgery he came out and explained everything to me . My wife is doing great after the cervical spine fusion .moving her arm in ways she hasn’t in years and getting her feeling back in her fingers. Kathleen Bonner who is his nurse manager and runs the office is one of the nicest and kindest person we have meet in the medical field . She went over and above to get my wife her MRI quickly and when I called her from the hospital while my wife was having surgery, because I am a nervous person and was not hearing anything in waiting room she responded quickly to get me a update from the operating room nurse who called within minutes. I would recommend to anybody needing a procedure to DR. Lipani and Kathleen Bonner who runs the office.
